Any suggestions?
Will they take my money if i just go up to there store and say “Here you go!?
Please Help Me.

Jimmy answers:

Contact them via their website. Ask them.

At your age, I think they’d prefer that you offer to do volunteer work at a shelter rather than give them money. -!-

Steven asks…

What’s the difference between the ASPCA and the Humane Society?

I’ve never understood that.

What’s the difference between “The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals” and “The Humane Society of the United States” ?

Jimmy answers:

The Humane Society of the United States is a radical group that wants to end all hunting, fishing, animal testing and trapping. They have no connection with the local humane societies that run animal shelters. They are almost the same as PETA.

The ASPCA is the parent organization for many community animal shelters and provides a valuable service to animals in need. They are a much more respectable and honest organization than HSUS.

Mark asks…

Is it true that the ASPCA and other organizations give money to Barack Obama?

My dad refuses to let me give money to ASPCA and other such organizations because he says they give money to the Obama Administration and other things to promote him. Is this true or is he just being selfish?
Are there any sort of organizations that are good to give to that dont give money to Obama?
The money is mune. I would give him the money and he would send it under his name because I’m not old enough.

Jimmy answers:

Your dad is probably referring to lobbyists from ASPCA, so then yes, he would be correct. I don’t like the ASPCA because they believe in euthanizing pitbulls because they are pitbulls.

Here is a link from Charity Navigator where people are leaving comments about the ASPCA…

You can also search the site for other charities to see where they stand financially. ASPCA gets 3 out of 4 stars, which isn’t bad.

If you can learn something from what your dad said, this is what I would suggest – before you are quick to hand your money over (and you really are a sweetheart for wanting to help out), always look to see how it will be used. It matters, and can end up hurting more than helping.
