Discussing Questions And Answers About Dog Food Soy Sauce

Mandy asks…

Is soy sauce and onion spring bad for my 7 week old puppy?

I’m not feeding him the soup. The chicken being boiled in the soup( The soup has soy sauce and onion spring) I don’t want to boil the chicken in only water and salt cuz sometimes I also eat it…

To be more specific it’s human food….
oh sh*t…i should stop it….he’s only eaten it once
He has not eaten the soup just the chicken submerged in the soup….

Jimmy answers:

As already mentioned, onions are toxic to dogs. Boiling it in salt is also not a good idea if you’ll be giving it to your puppy. Before you give your dog ANY “human food,” make sure it’s something he can safely eat.

Please don’t listen to the people suggesting you give her milk. Dogs naturally lack the enzymes needed to properly process cow milk. They are essentially lactose intolerant. Any more than a tiny amount will cause tummy upsets and diarrhea. At 7 weeks your dog has been fully weaned for a while now anyway, so I don’t know here people get the idea that milk, cow milk no less, would be somehow beneficial to her.

John asks…

What essential foods should I stock my fridge with?

I just got into a new apartment and my fridge is empty. What are some of the basics I should stock up on?

Jimmy answers:

Salad fixins’-balsamic vinegar, dijon mustard, capers, olive oil, some type of cheese, lettuce, sprouts etc.
Ketchup, soy sauce, salad dressing/mayo, pickles, pepperoncini peppers, jam/preserves, tabasco sauce
milk, eggs, butter, creamer/table cream, cheese(gorganzola, parmesan, clotted cream), tofu
steak, fish, pork chops, chicken…..and hot dogs!
Pears, oranges, bananas, strawberries, grapes
maybe a couple of TV dinners and pot pies and a couple of frozen pizzas.
Thats a portion of whats in my fridge and what I consider essential

Here are some good recipes:

Stir fry- You need cut up tofu, olive oil, steamed veggies, and cooked rice

Get a frying pan and coat it with olive oil. The put the tofu in the pan and brown each side of it. Next, add the veggies. Add a little more olive oil and put in the rice. Mix everything up and then let it sit on the stove, occasionally stirring it to make sure it doesn’t burn. After about a minute and a half of that put it in a bowl and enjoy!

Hummus- chick peas, lemon juice, paprika, black pepper, and any other spices/seasonings you like

Puree the chick peas. Then add a little lemon juice, paprika, pepper, and other spices. Then stir. Serve with a pita, with cucumbers, or on a veggie wrap.
