Orijen is recognized by experts and pet owners as a very high-grade dry dog food. It contains no grains at all, relying instead on potatoes for carbohydrates. Experts note that potatoes are also a good source of B… vitamins and minerals. Deboned chicken, chicken meal and turkey meal are the top three ingredients. Other meats, namely lake whitefish, turkey and salmon meal can be found further down the ingredient list. In addition, all other ingredients are of very high quality and include whole fruits such as apples, vegetables such as carrots and sweet potatoes, whole eggs and more. There’s also a good assortment of herbs, botanicals and probiotic microorganisms. Users are as enthusiastic as experts, despite the fact that Orijen is expensive.

Premium canned dog foodInnova EVO

Reviews say a dog’s diet should include both wet and dry food, and generally, reviews say canned food is of better quality, with fewer fillers, grains and preservatives. Innova EVO takes that a step further; it contains… 95 percent meat, with no grains or fillers of any kind. This type of food is designed to replicate what a dog would eat in the wild, but we’ve seen reports that some dogs take a little time to adjust to the higher protein levels. While not inexpensive, EVO costs a little less than most comparable high-meat-content canned dog food.

Canned dog foodCanidae

*Est. $1.30 per 13-ounce can

Canidae is a little more expensive than most supermarket and chain pet store brands, but the ingredient lineup is much more impressive. The Chicken, Lamb and Fish All Life Stages variety lists chicken, chicken broth,… lamb, chicken liver, herring, brown rice and egg at the top. While not grain-free, no corn, wheat or soy is used, and there are no by-products or fillers. Meats are free of hormones and chemical preservatives. The biggest negative is that Canidae can be hard to find in stores.

Any would be good as long as you are not seeing any sign of food allergies.

If the dog is showing signs of food allergies then I would try the

Jimmy answers:

Just from ingredients, I like food 2 a lot better. Food 1 only has one meat source, chicken, in only 1 ingredient spot. Then the next two ingredients are rice. If you combine the two types of rice into one ingredient source, I bet they would be more numerous then the meat source. Then you have oats as a main ingredient. Why? Dog’s can’t digest grains like rice and oats, why are they the most numerous ingredients in the food? Beat Pulp is next, which can cause NUMEROUS health problems. One being that the beat pulp can actually cause a mucus layer to form in the intestines. This mucus layer can actually prevent digestion, and cause food to store up and begin to ferment. Yeast infection in the intestines.

The first 3 ingredients in food 2 is different meat sources, which is good. Then you have plant matter which isn’t super digestible, but that is followed by even more meat sources, which includes meat and fish. Although I don’t agree with all the plant matter included, it has a lot of different meat sources and no pointless grains to act as fillers. The protein level is a little high, but I wouldn’t be too concerned. Protein from meat matter, which I assume that is, is a lot different then protein from plant matter. Because food 2 has so many different meat ingredients, it’s expected that the protein will be a little higher.

So, DEFINETLY food 2, in my opinion
