Discussing Questions And Answers About Homemade Sauce For Dog Food

Mandy asks…

How do most people in Canada eat/like pickles?

Is there a particular way you like them? Do you have any recipes using pickles that you would want to share? I’m doing research on how different Countries like eating pickles…so please share!! Thank you!

Jimmy answers:

As a former chef we eat them like the US does on or burgers, the side of a sandwich in a restaurant, in Subway and other fast food sandwich shops do have them for options, at home we eat sweet pickles, dills of many kind small green gherkin like ones, ones known here as bread and butter pickles a thin slice sweet dill chip like one.

My mother and grandmothers made homemade ones along with chili sauce (a tomato relish), zucchini relish, our hot dog relish is sweet but not as neon green as those in the US.

Lisa asks…

What can i do to increase possibility of viability in Twin pregnancy w/only 1 heartbeat & 1 1/2 weeks apart?

I’m pregnant with twins during my first ultrasound 2 weeks ago there were 2 sacs but only one had fetal matter and a heartbeat and I was told it would just disappear or abort and there was no chance of the second surviving. When I went back I was told one is definately viable measuring 8 wks 4 days and the other still has no heartbeat yet but there is fetal matter now and measures 7 weeks and a day and now there is 20-30% likelihood of viability. I was told to go back for another vaginal ultrasound on Wednesday and if no heartbeat then there will never be. How can I increase odds and when should a heartbeat be detected before giving up hope?

Jimmy answers:

Eat healthy, take your vitamins, try to get a good amount of sleep, and avoid all of those foods you can’t have during pregnancy;
1. Raw Meats: Raw meats such as sushi, seafood (especially shellfish), rare or uncooked beef or poultry foods should be avoided during pregnancy due to the risk of coliform bacteria, toxoplasmosis and salmonella.

2. Deli meats including hot dogs: These deli meats might be contaminated with listeria bacteria which may result in miscarriage. It’s safe to eat deli meats if you reheat them until steaming hot or avoid altogether.

3. Raw eggs: Raw eggs may contain salmonella. Some Caesar salad dressings, mayonnaise, homemade ice cream and custards as well as Hollandaise sauces may be made with raw eggs. In addition, unpasteurized eggnog should be avoided during pregnancy. Definitely one of the top foods to avoid during pregnancy.

4. Fish high in mercury: Another important food you can’t eat when pregnant. In many places in the U.S. There are high levels of Mercury or polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in the fish. When you consume large amounts of mercury, your baby may suffer brain damage resulting in developmental delays (for example, delays in learning to walk or talk). Consumption of fish containing high levels of PCBs in their fatty tissues is linked to decreased attention, memory, and IQ in babies. Check with your local Health Department to determine which fish in your area are safe to eat.

Goodluck! If its meant to happen. You’ll have beautiful twins!

James asks…

What is your advice for me to go down to 179 pounds, because I’m 5″11 and weigh 295?

I don’t have any money for Healthclub membership. So the best I can do is walk in the neighborhood. Now with me.

It doesn’t get dark in my city until 8:30 tonight, so when is it a good time to stop walking?

I also have in my freezer, diced chicken breast, Tyson chicken nuggets, whole chicken breast. I need to get a pan. So I can bake some fish in my oven. I have cheese, milk, salad, salad dressing, ketchup, bbq sauce, Oscar mayer turkey breast. 6 slices of bread. and sun chips harvest cheddar chips, and 3 small bags of doritos nacho chips.

So what can I do outside walking wise to lose the weight?

What exercises I can do at nighttime to lose the weight?

And what should I be eating everyday, with the stuff I bought?

And what should I buy next month, when I get my food stamps? I only get 100 dollars.
@DeAnne: I’m a Male. 27 years old also.

Jimmy answers:

Need more info: boy or girl? Age?
If male, unless you’re a linebacker, you should probably try to lose almost 100 lbs.
If female, unless your pregnant with quads, you should be about 150.

Instead of buying Doritos and sun chips, buy fresh veggies instead.
Here’s a good low-carb food/exercise plan:

Breakfast: Cook 9-grain cereal (from health food store) in water with rolled oats and wheat bran. Make a big pot of it on weekends and nuke 1/2 cup each morning. Add low fat milk or yogurt, banana, walnuts and berries. Drink hot Ovaltine. Breakfast should be your largest meal of the day to raise blood sugar level which falls during the night.

Lunch: Egg, tuna or turkey ½ sandwich (real meat, not Oscar Mayer because luncheon meats have too many preservatives, chemicals, nitrates, nitrites, salt, etc on whole grain — not just whole wheat bread with bean or alfalfa sprouts, yogurt, fresh fruit. If you had meat loaf for dinner, bring a meat loaf sandwich on whole grain bread (NO mayo). On cold days, a squatty thermos of hot chili, split peas with ham, or beef stew.

Snacks: Fresh (not canned) fruit or veggies. No chips and nothing ever from a vending machine.

Dinner: salad with white meat chicken and fresh (not canned) veggies: tomatoes, lettuce, shredded cabbage, shredded or sliced carrots, alfalfa or bean sprouts, zucchini, green or red peppers, hard boiled eggs, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, tofu, cottage cheese…Instead of dressing, squeeze 1/4 tomato over it.

Or homemade bean/vegetable soups; great way to recycle leftovers.
Or grilled fish with steamed veggies.

Or omelet: In blender, whip together eggs, tofu, cottage cheese, onions, garlic powder. Cook with mushrooms, chopped tomatoes and green or red peppers.

Avoid junk food, fast foods, pastries, desserts, anything with sugar or gluten, syrup (even canned fruit in syrup), peanut butter, fat/grease (pork, wieners, chops, bacon, salami, pizza, chips, fries), pasta, potatoes, ramen, popcorn, white bread, rice, canned veggies, ice cream, soda, chips, tobacco, alcohol and coffee. No oil except olive and mac nut.

To keep your skin clear, drink water. Veg. Juice is good too. But not canned juice (too much sugar.)

Go hiking, biking, jogging, bowling, swimming, rowing, jump rope, play tennis, badminton, volleyball, soccer, jumping jacks, lift weights, trampoline? To tone your tummy, do sit ups, push ups, pull ups, leg lifts, butt raises and crunches. If you’re female, take a dog when you go walking.

For more energy, take Super B complex. Try appetite suppressants.
