Salchipapas is a Peruvian street food that consists of thinly sliced pan-fried beef hot dogs or sausage and french fries, mixed together and served on a plate or in a paper cone, eaten with different sauces, like huacatay (Peruvian marigold and chili peppers), golf (ketchup and mayonnaise), aji (Peruvian chiles) and mustard. Salchipapas is sometimes served with a savory coleslaw on the side.

Lizzie asks…

What kinds of food can you put hot pepper Relish on?

I have a jar of Hot Pepper relish That I bought, but I don’t know what kind of food to use it on.

Jimmy answers:

I actually make my own hot pepper relish and use it on any kind of tacos, burritos, hot dogs, hamburgers or I make a spicy tartar sauce. On chicken, steaks, any meats and sandwiches.

Jenny asks…

How would you define the perfect pizzeria and italian restaurant?

Please include details such as your favorite foods that you would like them to serve, how you think certain foods should be prepared, parking, etc. What are your priorities? Friendly service, great taste, fast delivery times? Also what are your peeves?

Jimmy answers:

It would be family owned and operated, a nice clean place with traditional decor — wooden tables and chairs, tablecloths, candles in wine bottles, etc. — and Italian music playing softly in the background. I’d like the menu to have a variety of good Italian foods. Great antipasto, excellent lasagna is a must, ravioli, authentic Italian pizza, some dishes I’ve never tried, more than one kind of salad, bread sticks, and good sliced bread. Sauces made from scratch. It would be good if hot dogs and burgers were available for kids in that I-won’t-try-anything-new stage, but if I like the restaurant, I’ll leave the kids at home with McDonald’s if they tend to be picky.

Of course, I want a place to park and friendly service. Delivery isn’t a requirement. If the food’s good enough, I’ll pick it up or dine in the restaurant. Peeves? Too many tables and chairs for the space, restrooms that aren’t clean, servers who don’t offer condiments or drink refills or who don’t bring the check in a timely manner.
